Lower Richland Girls’ Roll in Playoff Victory

Lower Richland defeated Emerald 79-18 in the first round of the playoffs.  Alaysia Washington led Lower Richland with 18 points and Kentucky commit Kameron Roach added 16 –11 in the first quarter. Lower Richland Girls Take on Emerald in First Playoff Game

The Lower Richland girls’ basketball team will play Emerald High School Monday, February 15, 2015 at 7:00 pm. in the school’s arena.  The game will match the number 2 seeded LR against the number 3 seeded Emerald.  Come out and support the Diamond Hornets!  Ticket price is $6.00.

Diamond Hornet Spotlight: De’Jah Williford

This week’s “Diamond Hornet Spotlight” features senior De’Jah Williford, who has committed to play basketball at George Mason next season. She is a two-sport athlete at Lower Richland, competing in both basketball and volleyball. Williford has played in all 19 of LR’s contests and is averaging 9.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season.

LR and The Captain, Carey Rich Set to Host the MLK Girls Basketball Bash

The Lady Diamonds and The Captain, Carey Rich will host the 2016 MLK Girls Basketball Bash at Lower Richland Arena on Saturday, January 16. Seniors Alaysia Washington and Cailah Hicklin both scored in double figures to help the Lady Diamonds claim a 43-40 victory in overtime against Millbrook High School on Saturday in the Crescom Bank Holiday Invitational.  The Lady Diamonds and the Wildcats (8-2) closed out regulation tied at 33. Miami North Outlasts Lady Diamonds, 39-38

Lower Richland’s bid to stop Miami North’s chance at a three-peat fell short as the Lady Diamonds suffered a 39-38 loss to the Stingarees on Thursday night in the opening round of the Crescom Bank Holiday Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Lower Richland Girls Win

Lower Richland girls knocked off a determined Lexington girls basketball team on Saturday in the AC Flora Tip-off 69-49.  The team only led by 5 at the half 38-33.  The third quarter proved to be too much for the Wildcats as the quarter belonged to LR, they were able to hold the wildcats to only 8 points

Lady Diamonds Open Season at A.C. Flora Tip-Off Tournament

The Lower Richland girls’ basketball team opens the 2015-16 season against Lexington High School at the 2015 A.C. Flora girls basketball Tip Off Tournament on Saturday. Game time for the Lady Diamonds vs. the Wildcats is set for 11:30 a.m. Admission is $8 per day or $20 for the tournament pass. Tournament action will continue
